She was born on March 6, 1919 in Hillsboro, Texas to William Thomas and Tallulah Elizabeth Guinn Harris. Mrs. Peterbaugh and her family moved to Tyler in 1933 and she resided in the Lindale -Tyler area all of her life with the exception of a few years when she resided in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1935 and was a graduate of Tyler Junior college where she as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. During WWII she worked at Fort Sam Houston and Camp Fannin where she met her future husband, John Thomas "Pete" Peterbaugh. She was employed by the Cotton Belt Railroad and Broadway Insurance Agency from which she retired in 1984.
Mrs. Peterbaugh was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tyler and later in life the First Baptist Church in Lindale. She had the gift of a servants heart and a great love for her Savior Jesus Christ and her fellow man.
Mrs. Peterbaugh was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, John, and grand daughter, Melanie Kniffen and great grandson, Justin "Chase" Kniffen.
Survived by:
2 Daughters & Son-In-Law: Lynn & Perry Mac Hutchens of Lindale, and Nancy Kniffen of Henderson.
Step Daughter: Gloria Boots of Pasadena
Grandchildren: Jeff Hutchens and wife, Candace, Jon Hutchens and wife, Kindala, Jessica Hutchens, Paige McAnally and husband, Randall, and Justin Kniffen and wife, Sarah
Step Grandchildren: Jimmy Boots, Johnny Boots and Amy Broussard
Numerous Great Grandchildren
Mrs. Peterbaugh is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Annie Bell Baldwin of Lindale
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hutchens, Jon Hutchens, Justin Kniffen, Randall McAnally, Charles Lane, and Dean Childres.
