Ray Van Groshong was born to William and Almerinda (Pint) Groshong on July 6, 1928, in Saint Mathias Township, Crow Wing County, MN. Ray was united in marriage with Delores Bouchard on January 18, 1949, in Brainerd. They made their home in Verndale and later in Wadena. He found his livelihood in driving truck and used his hours of leisure in the outdoors where he went hunting, fishing, wild ricing, and snowmobiling. He and Delores enjoyed trips to Mexico, and they treasured spending time with their children and grandchildren. Ray loved life!
Ray was preceded in death by his parents William and Almerinda; two infant daughters baby girl Groshong and Hope Ann Groshong; brothers Lawrence, Merwood, Clyde and Bernard Groshong; and sisters Clara Groshong and Dorothy Olson.
He is survived by his wife Delores of Wadena; sons Raymond (Ronda) Groshong, Jr of Wadena, and Heath (Debra) Groshong of Jamestown, ND; daughters Linda (Bob) Schmidt of Menagha, and Robin (Tim) Klinkner of Underwood; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of great friends.
