Eliza, was the daughter of George William Dickerson and Mary June Clemons. Her first husband was James Thomas Duncan of Floyd co., VA., and her second husband was Wallace Ira Echard of Staunton, VA.

Mrs. Eliza Echard

Funeral services Mrs. Eliza Jane Echard, 82, of Shady Spring, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Woodrow Lusk officiating. Burial will be in the Dolen Cemetery near Spanishburg.

She died in a local hospital at 11:45 a.m. Saturday following a long illness.

A member of the Shady Spring Pentecostal Holiness Church, she was born Oct. 29, 1890 in Floyd County, VA.

Surviving are two sons, Leonard Duncan of Dublin, Va., and Thurman Duncan of Shady Spring: a stepson Pierce Duncan of Shady Spring; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Echard of Shady Spring, with whom she lived; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.
