Mrs. Forsythe was born January 23, 1933 in Gary, Texas to Samuel Ernest and Julia Merle (Heaton) Blake, and died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Forsythe was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She retired from Lufkin-Conroe Telephone Exchange (Consolidated) following 25 years of service as an operator. She also worked as a photographer for the House of Photography. She was a clothes designer, was a member of the Lufkin Art Guild, was an oil painter and sculptor, and was past President of the Angelina County Master Gardeners. Mrs. Forsythe was a member of the Pleasant Grove Community Church, where she had taught Sunday school and served as church pianist.
