Acosta died suddenly in the St. Dominic's Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Chicago, IL, he had lived in Jackson for 19 years. He was a supervisor for A & P Food Stores, having served forty years. He was a communicant of St. Richard's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie S. Acosta; one son, Raymond F. Acosta, Bay St. Louis; two daughters Mrs. Mary Frances Poche of West Monroe, La., Mrs. Ramona Tuschl of Marrero, La.; one brother, Polo Acosta of Mexico City; four sisters, Mrs. Pili Aroyo and Mrs. Elizabeth Menoz both of Chicago, Ill, Mrs. Marie Arrona and Elivira Acosta both of Mexico City; and eighteen grandchildren.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Heart Fund or St. Dominic Hospital.
