Dorothy Jane Bryant, 80, of Lexington, MO passed away at her home Sunday, March 2, 2014. Dorothy Jane Gorman was born April 21, 1933 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Josephine Adams Hartley. She married Blon F. Bryant on November 6, 1953 in Springfield, MO. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1994. Dorothy was employed as a Clerk at the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office for more than 30 years, retiring in 2010. Prior to working at the Sheriff's office she was the Secretary at the Lexington Middle School and a clerk at Rush Drug Store. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a member of the Progressive Sunday School. She was a volunteer at the Lexington Food Pantry, a charter member of Live in Lexington, enjoyed activities at the Elks Club, and was a Bridge player and member of the Tripoly Club for 50 plus years. Dorothy is survived by her children, Tammy Bryant Dangos and husband, Rich of St. Louis, MO. and Stephen Bryant and wife, Teresa, of Lee's Summit, MO. Three grandchildren: Rebecca Ann Bryant and Adam Powers, Katie Jane Purkey and husband, Grant, and Christopher Blon Bryant. One great-grandchild, Jacob Blon Purkey. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Lexington United Methodist Church. Inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 5 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington.
