Ames, Ia. Carl Gilbert "Gib" Baker, 59, of Ames died of a heart ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist church. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Baker was born in Cedar and had lived in Ames since 1949. He was superintendent for the Ames Municipal Power Plant. He was a member of First United Methodist church. Ames City Employees Credit Union board and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen "Kay"; a son, Steven of Atwater, Calif.; two daughters, Julie Taylor of Ames and Diane Carroll of Atwater, Calif; his mother, Leona Baker of Ames; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church for Christian education.
