Nellie Elizabeth Bodkin, 100, of Harrisonburg and formerly Sugar Grove, WV, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 1, 1916 in Sugar Grove a daughter of the late Jasper and Mary Jane (Rexrode) Puffenbarger.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bodkin will be remembered as a witty and loving person, who loved to laugh, enjoyed quilting as well as her visits with family and friends. She was a member of Crummetts Run Church of the Brethren.

On Aug. 28, 1934, she married Elmer Clay Bodkin, who preceded her in death on March 31, 1982.

Additionally, she was predeceased by her daughter, Charlotte Mae Bodkin, and brother, Paul Puffenbarger.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorena B. and Adalbert E. Hoover of Brandywine, W.Va., and Karen S. and Roy R. Simmons of Harrisonburg, with whom she made her home for 18 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Elmer Lee and Bonnie K. Bodkin of Sugar Grove, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Gregory Hoover, Conny Davis and husband James, Melanie Crouch and husband Thomas, Adrian Simmons and wife Carrie, Brandon Simmons, Gavin Bodkin and companion Holly, and Doug Marsh and wife Kelly; and three greatgrandchildren, Allie and Abbi Simmons and Harper Marsh.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Crummett Run Cemetery.
