Lee Roy Barnes Dies at Home

Lee Roy Barnes, 709 North Choctaw, machinist's helper with the Rock Island Lines, died unexpectedly this morning at his home following a heart attack.

Mr. Barnes was born July 20, 1889, at Clifton, Kan., and came to El Reno in 1923 from Pond Creek. He was a member of the El Reno Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Daphne, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Maude Barnes, Watonga; a son, Arthur Barnes, North of El Reno; three grandchildren, Billy, Kendall, and Maxine Barnes, all north of El Reno; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Epler, Omega and Mrs. Merle Holmes, California; three brothers, Claude Barnes, Omega, George Barnes, Okarche route 3, and Bill Barnes, Texarkana, Tex.

Funeral services will be announced by the Benson Funeral Home.

Barnes Funeral Set

Funeral services for Lee Roy Barnes, 700 North Choctaw, machinist's helper with the Rock Island lines who died Monday, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Nazarene church with Rev. Carl Prentice, pastor, officiating, Burial will be in the El Reno cemetery under the direction of Benson funeral home with Masonic graveside services.
