A goodly number attended the funeral of A. S. Deming on the 9th, conducted by Rev. Johnson at the Cong'l church. Great sympathy is felt by all for his bereaved widow and sorrowing children. A few short years ago the deceased followed to her last resting place a dearly beloved daughter, the baby of the old folks heart, and since that time, Mr. Deming has seldom left his home; with his wife he led the life of a recluse, continuing to mourn until despondency turned his brain and therefore he could not be responsible for the rash act which ended his life.
