H. Regina Abel, 73, Greenville, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in Jeffersonville,.

Born Dec. 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Blanche Underwood Parnell.

She was a retired nurse and longtime parishioner of St. Mary's of the Knobs Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 49 years, James M. Abel Sr.

Survivors include seven children, Teresa Flick and Nicholas Abel, both of Cincinnati, Kimberly Gholston of Greenville, Jim Abel Jr. of New Albany, Scott Abel of Bowling Green, Matthew Abel of Georgetown and Angelita Cain of Sellersburg; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 26, from noon to 7 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs with burial in the church cemetery.
