Luella died in the Stage Nursing Home in Gowanda following a two month illness. She was born in Ellicottville and lived there her entire life.

She was a member of the Ellicottville Review No 14, Woman's Benefit Association.

Pall bearers at her funeral, which took place at the Presbyterian church, were Alfred Mercer, William Mercer, George Fitzgerald, William Luss, William Morton and Merle Weller.

Many friends and family came from far away to attend her funeral.

She was survived by two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren, also a brother and a sister and several nieces and nephews.
