PETER B. BEACH

On February 26, 2014, Peter B. Beach died as he lived - in the Lord. He was born on July 22, 1920, and grew up with four siblings on a farm in Haymarket, VA. Following service in the Army during World War ll, Peter continued his 42-year career at Western Electric, as Methods Analyst and later as Legal Support for AT&T. After retirement, he and Marge, his wife of nearly 50 years, built a summer home in Burgess on the Northern Neck. He spent many of his happiest times fishing on the Little Wicomico River. Peter lived out his Christian faith as an active member of Ballston Baptist Church, Arlington; Columbia Baptist Church, Falls Church; Bethany Baptist Church, Callao; and First Baptist Church, Springfield. As a resident of Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield, he remained true to his life-long traits - love of God and love of family, quick to laugh and to be grateful, keeping up with baseball and football, daily reading and study of the Bible and newspaper.
Peter is survived by three children, David B. Beach (Susan) of Richmond, Linda B. Singletary of Vienna, and Richard K. Beach (Debbie) of Falls Church; nephew, Derick A. Wallis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nieces, Karen W. Flanders (Scott) of Fairfax and Pamela M. Burket (Stephen) of Ashburn; and several generations of other family who were blessed by his life.
A memorial service will be held at Greenspring Chapel, 7410 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA 22150 at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 4. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery will be private. Peter was a generous man; you can honor his memory by making a contribution to First Baptist Church of Springfield, 7300 Cary Street, Springfield, VA 22150, or to your charity of choice.
