Bethan Dunham Carter, 92, of Haileyville, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Solara Hospital in Muskogee. Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Damon, she was the daughter of Asa and Minnie (Clark) Zearley. She was raised and received her education in Damon. She worked at Oklahoma Aerotronics in Hartshorne, at a nursing home and at Haileyville school as a grandparent-teacher for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Dunham and Deanna Dunham, both of Haileyville; a stepson, Charles Carter of Maud; brothers-in-law, Carl Van Meter and Lum Day; grandchildren, Teresa Dunham, David and Kim Dunham, Joe and Gwen Dunham, Sandina Dunham, Gary Dunham, Kim and Barry Franklin, Mackell Holt, Jim Holt, LaTisha Dunham, Carrie Roscoe and Sarah Roscoe; 27 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a brother, Jack Zearley, of Hartshorne; a sister, Mary Williams, of Santa Clara, Calif.; nephews and nieces, Michael VanMeter, Gary VanMeter, Cecil Day, Roger Day, Carl Williams Steve Williams, Darren Zearley, Dwyla Smart and Cathy Jimenez; family friend Bobby Green, and numerous cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Dunham; an infant sister and brother; sisters, Norma Day and Anita Van Meter; a granddaughter, Krystal Dees; two grandsons, Chad Holt and Naconna Bennett, and a brother-in-law, Johnny Williams. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne, officiated by Pastor Michael Van Meter. Interment will follow at Mountain Station Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons David Dunham, Joe Dunham, Gary Dunham, Jim Holt, Keane Voegele, Dylan Voegele, Heith Dollins and Jarrod Holt.
