ADA--Memorial services for Katherine Manton, 87, Ada, are 4 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. J.T. Roberts officiating. A private family committal service was held prior to the chapel service. Burial follows at
Rosedale Cemetery.

She died Dec. 13, 2002, at her home. She was born Nov. 29, 1915, at Allen to Louis Burk and Ella Lenore Pogue Adams.

She came to this area in 1991 from Tulsa. She graduated from Oklahoma State University.

Her family was the owner and operators of Adams Lumber Company in Ada and Allen.

She was active in the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa.

She and Fred Manton were married Oct. 3, 1937, at Ada. He died Aug. 3, 1993, at Ada.

She and her husband were members of the Ada Hobos Club for several years.

Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Thompson, Ada, and Carol Pohly, Berthoud, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to: Pontotoc Animal Welfare Society, 1200 Sandy Creek drive, Ada, Okla. or the charity of choice.
