F. F. Long Claimed AT 78

Franklin F. Long, 78, retired employee of the Wellsville maintenance department and a former stone mason, died Friday morning at his home following an illness of several months. He resided at 1922 Chester Ave., Wellsville.

A native of Marietta, he was born Dec. 31, 1862, to Frank Long and Margaret Beaver Long. He came to Wellsville over 50 years ago, working as a stone mason. He retired as a city maintenance worker May 11, 1960, because of his health, after serving nine years. He was a member of the Wellsville Revival Center.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Agnes Steen Long, a son, Paul Long, a daughter, Miss Susie Long, and a brother, Robert Long, all at home, six other daughters, Mrs. Hilda Winstead of Franklin, Tex., Mrs. Pearl Chrislip of Akron, Mrs. Jane Watkins of East Liverpool, Mrs. Mable Crocker of Waldport, Ore., Mrs. Alice Echols of Wellsville R. D. and Mrs. Mary Cameron of Toronto R. D.; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Steen of Akron, and 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. ? Messer, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Blaine Nutter, pastor of the Wellsville Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday.
