Ruth Hildegard (Plier/Frankwick) Bell, age 96 of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the House of the Dove with family at her side. She lived in the Marshfield area her whole life until the past three years where she resided at The Homeplace of Dorchester.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, at St. Johns Catholic Church in Marshfield. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be John Bell Jr., Scott Gundrum, Chris Olson, Jay Bonnett, Peter Bell, and Jeff Bell.

The visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. Johns Church. A combined St. John's Parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 4:30 Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on February 3, 1918, in Marshfield, Wood County, the daughter of George and Viola (Scherr) Plier. She attended St. Johns Catholic School in Marshfield, Hewitt School and Arpin School. She married Clarence Frankwick on May 10, 1938. They had one son and one daughter. Clarence was killed in action in WWII on March 1, 1945. She married Harold N. Bell on June 2, 1949 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. They had four sons and three daughters. They celebrated their 62th wedding anniversary in 2011. Ruth was a homemaker and had enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, camping, bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family throughout her life. She also enjoyed watching her sons and grandsons in motorsports.

Ruth is survived by three sons and two daughters, Tom (Patty) Bell of Spencer, Ken Bell of Fond du Lac, Sherri Bell of Madison, Mary (Mike) Olson of Hustisford, and Harold (Diann) Bell, Jr. of Marshfield. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her son-in-laws, Bob (Joan) Kloos of Rosendale, Wes (Sandy) Bonnett of Fond du Lac, and her daughter-in-law Janet (John) Bell, and one sister, Dolores Leitner of Marshfield.

Ruth was predeceased by her husbands, Clarence Frankwick and Harold Bell, Sr., two daughters, Joan (Frankwick) Kloos and Sandy (Bell) Bonnett, two sons, David Frankwick and John Bell, and one grandson, David Kloos. She was also predeceased by her parents, three sisters and one brother, Alice Root, Esther Simstaed, Cecelia Plier, and Bob Plier.
