COPPERTON--Joseph S. Wing, 92, died Sunday, December 5, 1993 at the home of his daughter in Roy.

He was born September 8, 1901 in Springville, Utah, where he was reared and educated. He was a son of Fredrick W. Wing and Sophia Erath. He married Vera Annetta Boulton October 6, 1923 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the Copperton LDS Ward.

He was employed by the Kennecott Copper Company as a locomotive engineer, retiring May 1, 1967 after 43 years of faithful service. He loved working and had to keep busy. After his retirement, he worked several years as a security guard at the Proeler Company.

He is survived by one son, two daughters and their spouses; James Joseph Wing, Copperton; Mrs. Wallace (LaVern) Pingree, Roy; and Mrs. Jerry (Carol Gay) Honeycutt, Magna; 11 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

He loved life and his family, and was always kind and giving. He especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and always looked forward to camping and fishing trips with some of his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Funeral services Wednesday, December 8, 11 a.m., Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy.
