Bessie Mae Bishop, 82, died Monday, January 4 at Owen County Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Owen County, the daughter of Jake & Vera Agee Slaughter, was a retired nurse and member of St Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Agnes Lee, Glencoe; two sons, Charles Bishop, Glencoe and Joe Bishop, Madill, OK; a foster son, John Campbell; one brother, MartinSlaughter, Jonesville; six grandchildren and three step-grand children; five great-grandchildren and three step-granchildren.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8 at Helvey & Garnett Funeral Home by Rev. Charlie B. Walters, with burial in the Jonesville Cemetery.
