Kentucky New Era obit posted 28 Jun 1969 reads as follows:

Robert H. "Bob" Allen, 72, of Rt 2, Cadiz, died Friday while working on a neighboring farm of an apparent heart attack.

A well-known Trigg County farmer, Mr. Allen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Trigg county. He is the son of the late George and Carrie Kirby Allen and was born May 22, 1897. His widow, whom he married in 1916, is the former Ruth Mitchell.

Services will be held at the Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, Sunday at 3pm, with burial in Little River Cemetery near Cadiz. Officiating will be the Rev. Carl Noel, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Raley and the Rev. Roy Marquess.

Surviving besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Tyler and Mrs. Joe Waitts, both of Cadiz, and Miss Myrtlene Allen of the home; four sons, Dewey of Godfrey, Ill., Cecil and Chappel, both of Cadiz, and Raymond of Trigg County; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Greg, Sammy, Johnny, and James Allen, Scotty and Mike Waitts, Jerry Ray Tyler, and Billy Joe Nichols. Honorary pallbearers include the Revs. Bulter, Baker, Ivy, Young, Meador, and Herndon.
