Harriet Evelyn McKnight (Mrs. George H. Burrow then Mrs. Harrison Herron) was the mother of John Jefferson Burrow m. Nell Caroline Mills. She does not have a marker. There was a connection with Bishop Issac Lane, founder of Lane College, Jackson, Madison, Tennessee. Mrs. Hattie told members of the family of Nell Caroline Mills (the family of her sister, Ascenah Mills Fisher) that she, Harriet Evelyn Mcknight Burrow Herron as a young woman taught Issac Lane to read. Her death and birth dates were obtained from Tennessee Death Records and Index. Her daughter Mary Harriet Burrow b. circa 1871 is said to have been killed in an automobile accident per The Burrow Book (out of print, privately published). Her husband, George H. Burrow is b. in The Burrow Cemetery. Her son, John Jefferson Burrow, spouse of Nell Caroline Mills (without heirs) does not have a marker. The Reverend John Jefferson Burrow (Methodist Minister and substantial slave owner) and his wife, Elizabeth Snell were the parents of fourteen children with only George H. Burrow and Harriet E. Burrow m. James W. McKelvy surviving to maturity. All the children's birth and date dates are recorded in The Burrow Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee, United States.
