JESSE LOUIS CLARK

Jesse Louis Clark was born July 7, 1896 in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas to William Woodson Clark and Nancy Elizabeth (Franklin) Clark. He was one of ten children.

In the 1900 US Census, when Jesse was 5 years old he lived in Fannin County, Texas with his father, mother, 4 brothers, sister. From Texas, the family moved to Indian Territory (Oklahoma). When Jessie was 13 years old, his mother Nancy passed away in July 1907. In the 1910 US Census, Jessie and his younger brother Roy lived with their father, William Clark, in Colbert, McClain County, Oklahoma.

At the age of 19, Jesse married Bessie Mae Mitchell on December 23, 1913, in Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma. They had one child, Cecil Lewis Clark, October 22, 1914. When he registered for the World War I draft in 1917, they were living in Colbert, McClain County, Oklahoma. They later moved to California. Bessie passed away on September 23, 1923 and is buried in Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside County, California.

Jesse later married Tinney Mae Lee Jesse and Tinney also had a son. Tinney Mae Clark passed away on August 21, 1979 in California. He worked in the oil fields. Jesse passed away on January 28, 1980 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas. He is buried in Oak View Memorial Park Cemetery, Antioch Contra Costa County, California.
