Mr. Douglas O. Allen, 84, of Lake Jackson, TX and formerly of Hogansville, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Country Village Assisted Living Center in Angleton, TX.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, at the graveside in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, with Minister Roger Jones officiating.
Mr. Allen was born July 16, 1924, in LaGrange, son of the late Columbus and Donnie Christian Allen. He served in the Army 5th Air Force in the Pacific during World War II, lived in Hogansville most of his life, and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. and Columbus Mills. A member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville, he was a former member of the Hogansville Golf Club and a past president of the Hogansville Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Jones Allen of Lake Jackson; sons and daughters in-law, Douglas, Jr. and Sue Allen of Lake Jackson and Charles and Terri Allen of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
