SAN ANGELO — Audrey Faye Cummings, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2006. To all who knew her, she lived life to the fullest and was devoted to her family, friends and Park Heights Baptist Church, which she loved with all her heart.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in the Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

She was very active in her church, where she led a Sunday school class for many years for 15-year-old girls. She then became a greeter and secretary for her own Sunday school class. She also enjoyed many years as the coordinator for providing lunches for the families of those who had lost loved ones. Faye also loved her job of 25 years as an Avon representative.

She was born May 2, 1910, in Pella, Texas.

Faye moved to Abernathy, Texas, at age 6 and lived there until 1929 (13 years). She married Dan Cummings on Sept. 2, 1929, in Lubbock, Texas. She and Dan moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and lived there for eight months while Dan was in machinist school. They moved to where they lived for three years; then in December 1933, Dan was transferred by the Santa Fe to San Angelo, Texas.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Dan L. Cummings Sr.; her mother and father; two brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Freddie Smith.

She is survived by her three children, daughter Janet Smith of Duncanville, Texas; son Dan Cummings Jr. and wife Jayne of Abilene, Texas; and daughter Kathy Dunson and husband Ray of Grand Prairie, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
