Mr. Dupree, 76, of Glen Oaks Ct., Mooresville, formerly of Charlotte, died Monday, December 20, 2004, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation, Mooresville.
Born November 8, 1928, in Johnston County, NC, he was a son of the late Wade Dupree and Ruth Barbour Dupree-Lassiter. Mr. Dupree was a retired electrical salesman having over 40 years of service. He was a US Army veteran and lifetime member of the Charlotte Engineer Club.
Mr. Dupree is survived by his wife of 49 years, Harriet Basile Dupree; children, Denise Dupree, of Charlotte, Karen Laws and husband, Rick, of Granite Falls, and Janet Simmons and husband, Gene, of Charlotte; brothers, J. Harold Dupree and wife, Sally, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joe Dupree and wife, Gloria, of Myrtle Beach; nephews, Marty Dupree, of Raleigh, and Stephen Dupree, of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Zachary Simmons, Ashley Laws and Megan Laws.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, December 26, 2004, at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Rd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210 and/or Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
