He married Sarah Margaret Allbee on May 29, 1938 at Mellette, Spink County, South Dakota.
Leonard was survived by two daughters, two sons, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his brother, Richard Balsiger of Portland, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his sister, Charlotte and his brother, Harold.
He was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery on May 26, 2005.
