Mrs. Steen was born on June 27, 1918 to Adolph and Bessie (Gifford) Woodward in Kinghill, Idaho. On May 15, 1939 she married William Steen. They lived in Portland where he worked in the shipyards until 1944 when they moved to Lostine.
They lived in a log cabin built by her husband, Bill. Her home was her pride and joy, with gardening being her passion. She enjoyed sight-seeing, shopping, her faith in God and most of all being with her family.
Mrs. Steen was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Delores Linville of Lincoln, Calif., Katherine Burling of La Grande, Robert Steen of Woodland, Calif., and Barbara Brooks of La Grande, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, 1511 26th Street, La Grande. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
