Douglas E. Kigar passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord, with his family by his side, on November 17, 2010. Born June 18, 1923, Doug lived a long and fulfilling life. He was the devoted father of seven children. Preceded in death by his parents Charles Clayton Kigar and mother Elizabeth B Brattain. He and his wife Peggy began their family in Ft. Wayne, IN after his service in World War II. Doug was a home builder and built all his family homes. Doug and Peggy moved their family to Boca Raton in 1972 where he was later known affectionately as "Doug" by his twelve grandchildren. After fifty-six years of marriage, Peggy died in 2002. In 2003 Doug married Marilyn Sanborn Kigar and they enjoyed eight wonderful years of marriage with Marilyn lovingly caring for him through his final days. Doug loved his family with all his heart, body, and soul. He would wish for us all to do the same. He is survived by his seven children, Tom, Nancy Bohen, David, Katy Kissell, Amy Pasquarelli, Jim, Julie Garcia; his twelve grandchildren; his wife, Marilyn Sanborn Kigar, and her eight children. There will be a private service in Boca Raton for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33436.
