Allen Dean Nitschke was born in Jud, North Dakota on February 20th, 1938, to Adolph and Rebecca (Madke) Nitschke. He went to school in Jud and had a brother named Terry and two sisters named Vivian and Shirley. He was a junior in high school. Allen was known in school as being quite athletic. On October 8th, 1954, tragedy struck. One and a half miles west of town, a car with four teenage boys had an impact with the Edgeley Co-op creamer truck which was pulling into the Brady family's driveway. The driver failed to clear the truck and rolled the car many times. The time of the accident was 12:20. Allen had head, back and internal injuries. He passed away around five o'clock. James Braun, the driver of the car also was killed in the accident. James and Allen were friends and will be missed by all of their classmates and many friends and familes.
