Melton Joseph Marceaux Sr., 70, of Orange, Texas passed away on February 20, 2014 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

Melton was born in Kaplan, Louisiana on February 4, 1944. He was the son of Asa and Lucille (Fontenot) Marceaux.

Melton retired from Echo Construction Company after working as a general foreman for twenty-eight years. He also worked Levingston Shipbuilding Company, and served as a Staff Sargent in the United States Marines from 1969 through 1971. Melton was a veteran of the Vietnam War and received the distinguished Purple Heart award. He was a very giving person, and loved to barbecue. Melton often enjoyed riding his lawn mower. He was a very proud father and adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Rita Beard.

Melton is survived by his wife, Elaine Marceaux; daughter, Cynthia Myrick; daughter, Chantel Marceaux; son, Melton Marceaux Jr. and wife Bridgett; daughter, Alicia Gramza and husband Matthew; seven grandchildren; sisters, Mary Umfred, Mildred Lewis and Annie Murphy.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City with Military Honors
