Dr. Louis H. Benes, 72, of Grand Rapids, died there Sunday night. Immediate past-president of the General Senate of the Reformed Church in America, he was a minister all his life, having served pastorates in Albany, N.Y., Grand Rapids and Los Angeles. He was editor of the Church Herald, the Reformed Church publication, for 30 years.
The Rev. Mr. Benes is survived by his wife, Alberta; two daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Roundhouse, of Midland and Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Weiss of Orange City, Iowa; two sons, The Rev. Louis H. of Sheldon, Iowa, and the Rev. Paul of Kingston, N.Y.; one brother; two sisters; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Garfield Park Reformed Church, Grand Rapid. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Midland Daily News dated 6-28/1978
