Her father was William J. Bertron Deford. He was in Minnesota on a business trip in Dec 1887. He was robbed and murdered and his body found on the railroad tracks. His body was unrecognizable except to the family. He is buried in a cemetery in LaCrosse as an "Unknown" 30 years of age.

She and John Grimes divorced in 1926.

NEILLSVILLE -- Maude "Molly" L. DeNure, 93, of 611 Ceneter St. died Thursday at Memorial Home here.

Services will be Saturday at Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Henseler, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Neillsville Cemetery.

Mrs. DeNure was born October 11, 1887 in LaFarge to William and Bertha (Fisher) DeFord and was educated in that area. Her first marriage was to John Grimes June 9, 1908 in Sparta. They lived in Sparta and also Tomah where she operated a restaurant for many years.

After the death of her first husband she was married December 24, 1936 in Rio to Frank DeNure and they lived in Baraboo for many years before moving to Neillsville about 1950. Mr. DeNure died July 22, 1970.

She had been a resident of Memorial Home the past six months.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Lettie) Hennessey of Minneapolis; a son, John Grimes of Neillsville; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by two sons, Patrick and Edward, and by a brother and stepsister.
