JEROME J. BUTTERMAN was born 25 Aug 1897 (some sources indicate 1900) in Great Falls, Montana, to parents Nicholas Butterman and Nellie Butterman. He had 3 older sisters: Ida, Freda, and Agnes.

1910 (*federal census), age 12, living in Great Falls, MT, with parents and 3 sisters, father employed as a plumber.

MILITARY: COOK US ARMY WWI. He enlisted 29 Aug 1917 and was honorably discharged 26 Jul 1919 at The Presidio of San Francisco.

1920 (federal census), age 22, single, living in Everett, WA, with a sister (Agnes) and brother-in-law, employed as a machinist in a garage.

1931, residence in Sawtelle, Los Angeles, CA, where he was treated for kidney stones at the National Home For Disabled Soldiers.

He died 17 Mar 1956 in San Francisco, CA, burial at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.
