Clarence E. Larson, 91, of Janesville, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. He was born in Marinette, Wis., on December 9, 1922, the son of Godfrey N. and Alvina E. (Bromond) Larson.

After graduating from Marinette High School in 1941 he sailed on the Great Lakes for two years and then joined the Merchant Marine. Clarence received the Atlantic War Zone Bar, Combat Bar, Victory Bar, Korean War Zone Bar and was honorably discharged.

He married the former Frances H. Smith in Marinette on June 16, 1951. Clarence had been employed by General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Larson;
three children: Clyde H. Larson of Janesville, WI; Steven D. (Nancy) Larson of Connecticut and John C. (Julie) Larson of Chicago, IL;
seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
five siblings: Lorena "Renie" Boneham, William Larson, Margaret Williams, Marilyn Gould and Judy Wendel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings: Eleanor Boelter, Mae Freis and John Larson.
