Funeral service for Bobby Roy Atchley, 63, will be Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Pulaski with Carr and Erwin Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Atchley; three sons, Matthew Atchley and wife, Sara, Pulaski, TN, Will Atchley, Lewisburg, TN, Matthew Hamilton and wife, Jill, St. Louis, MO; three granddaughters, Madison Atchley, Tayiah Hamilton and Peyton Hamilton; one brother, Paul Atchley and wife, Margaret, Decatur; one sister, Lois Baker and husband, Johnny, Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Bobby retired from General Motors. He attended New Zion Baptist Church and served on several mission trips through Samaritan's Purse Ministry. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He previously lived in Alabama and attended Mount View Baptist Church in Trinity. He graduated from Danville High School.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Marriage Class of New Zion Baptist Church, and nephews, Ronnie Bledsoe, Ronnie Kimbrough, Danny Kimbrough, Richard Hensley, Billy Hamilton and Elwood Eades.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Zion Baptist Church building fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Bobby Roy Atchley age 63, of Pulaski , passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Atchley was born February 7, 1951 in Decatur, Alabama, to Aaron Wesley Atchley and Annie Nix Atchley. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, J. W. Atchley and one sister, Virginia Fagan.

Mr. Atchley was a retired engineer with General Motors Co. He also served on several mission trips with Samaritans Purse from Japan to Alaska.
