UPTAIN, MR. ALMAS, age 83, of Hayden, AL, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ezell Campbell Shipp Uptain; and son, Larry Shipp; and brothers, Clement, Melvin and Marvin Uptain.
He is survived by his sons, Lionell Shipp (Vallie) and Leslie Shipp; daughter-in-law, Lynn Shipp; grandchildren, Brandon Shipp, Jennifer Shipp Culwell (Jim), Patrick Shipp, Ronnie Shipp and Robin Shipp Pounders (Jimmy); great-grandchild, Montana; and sisters, Louise Goggans (Fred).
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Corner, AL. Rev. Sammie Reid officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 until 2 PM.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund.
