Died —At Amboy, on Saturday, March 8th, Mr. Royal Tuttle, another of Amboy's early settlers, aged about 80 years. Mr. Tuttle has had an eventful career. Coming into Amboy when much of it was a dense wilderness, he has lived to see the forest give place to fruitful fields, and fine residences arise where once smoked the rude wigwam of the savage. He once had a terrible encounter with a large bear, who after being shot by him through the body, seized and dragged him into the North pond, and nearly tore his right leg from his body. He was a man of giant frame, sober, industrious, and friendly. All respected ''Uncle Royal.' ' —Lakeside Press. The subject of the above notice is remembered as a member of Co, "M " 2d N. Y. H. A. Royal B. Tuttle was a good soldier and a respected comrade. His death will be regretted by the members of our old company.
