Born in Heber City, the son of Sarah June Cummings and Willard Earl Hathenbruck, Earl was a graduate of Heber City's Wasatch High School, Class of 1936. He married Alta Naomi Pike May 25, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. An avid sportsman, he loved to fish and bowl.
Surviving family members are his wife of 66 years, daughter Linda (Michael) Key, two sons Gene (Jeannie) Hathenbruck and Steven (Sara) Hathenrbuck, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Predeceased by two sons Larry (Norma) Hathenbruck and Keith (Betty) Hathenrbuck, parents, a sister and three brothers.
