"Reed R. Thurston Dies In Calif., Funeral Friday
"Layton --- Funeral services for Reed R. Thurston, Layton, were held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Layton First LDS Ward Chapel.
"Mr. Thurston died Saturday in Salinas, California, after a heart attack suffered while on a business trip. He was a salesman for Nation-wide Business Builders.
"He was born April 18, 1914, in Annabella, Sevier County, a son of Hyrum Peter and Rosetta Roberts Thurston. He married Maurine Ence on August 28, 1934, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
"Survivors include the widow, a son, Richard L.; daughters, Mildred and Vicky Thurston, Mrs. Russell (Sonja Ann) Barker -- all of Layton; mother, Annabella, brother, Hyrum; sister, Mrs. A. T. (Melba) Farnsworth, both of Salt Lake."
