The Paper, Wabash, IN Jan. 15, 2014:

Earl A. Rogers, 85, Zebulon, died Dec. 25 at the Spalding Regional Hospital, Griffin. He was born in Somerset on Aug. 17, 1928.

Earl was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving for six years during the Korean War. He worked in property management and photography in Indiana, Oklahoma and Dublin, GA, before moving to Zebulon in 2000. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and reading. Earl was a member of the Zebulon United Methodist Church, a 64-year Master Mason and Past Master of Somerset Lodge #383 in Somerset, and also a member of the Shrine Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Georgia Tate Rogers; a son, Eric (Deanna) Rogers; a daughter, Bonnie Douglass; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Rogers and Elizabeth Baxter Rogers, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Dec. 29 in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, with Rev. Carol Scroggs and Rev. Cindy Connor officiating. Burial followed in the Zebulon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. C.B. Reddy, the staff of Heritage Health Care in Griffin and to Spalding Regional Medical Center for the comfort and loving care received by Mr. Rogers for the past seven years.
