Warrington died at Kingston Avenue Hospital of poliomyelitis. He was admitted to the hospital 2 days before his death. His death occurred during a particularly virulent polio outbreak the summer of 1916 in New York City, with highest numbers in Brooklyn, followed by Manhattan.
