Florence Ahlers Hoffman of Carlsbad, California, formerly of Fort Mitchell, died on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010. She was born in Covington to the late Harry and Catherine Schwermann Ahlers on August 23rd, 1914 and graduated from Notre Dame Academy and business school in Cincinnati. She worked for Queen City Supply. She married Edward R. Hoffman and they owned and operated Hoffman's Delicatessen in Lewisburg for over twenty-five years. Mrs. Hoffman was a resident of Fort Mitchell for over fifty years. Her husband died in 1985 and she moved to California in 2001.

Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was active in the parish ladies' society. She was an avid bridge player and golfer, and she and her husband were members at Twin Oaks Golf Course for many years.

Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her son, Edward R. Hoffman Jr. and daughter-in-law, Gail Poe Hoffman of Carlsbad, California; grandson, Edward R. Hoffman III of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Victoria Leigh Emry of Mission Viejo, California; and two great-grandchildren, Brenden Lee Emry and Alexis Leigh Emry of Mission Viejo, California.
