William Nantz Creswell, was the youngest son of David [1809-1882] and Catharine NANTZ Creswell [1808-1879]. He married Mary Adelaide McPherson in 1871 and graduated from Davidson College in 1873, William farmed his family's land in the Mount Mourne area of Iredell County as his father and grandfather, James Creswell [bef 1771-1816] had done before him. His sister, Janie Catharine Creswell [1850-1899] married John Young TEMPLETON [1837-1917] who was the uncle of Mary Adelaide McPHERSON.
