West Liberty --- Leo Jehle, 74, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Mercy hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient since last Saturday. He had suffered a paralytic stroke on Jan. 17.
Leo Jehle was born in April 10, 1877, at Lone Tree, a son of Mary and Atlas Jehle. He was married to Christine Meyer at Lone Tree on Feb. 13, 1900, and farmed in the Lone Tree community and near West Liberty until retiring to live in West Liberty in 1919.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Earl, and a daughter, Mrs. Harry Schooley, all of West Liberty, two brothers, Frank and Mike of Lone Tree, a sister, Julia Schaapveld of Hooker, Okla., three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the Presbyterian church with the Rev. Clinton Frank in charge. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery. The body is at the Snider Funeral home.
