June A. Shopp, 80, of Virginia, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at her daughter's home in Britt.

She was born June 22, 1933, in Pike Township to John and Mathilda (Kauppila) Hanela and grew up there, graduating from the Embarrass High School.

June married Philip Shopp Oct. 29, 1955, in Virginia. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Virginia and worked at Cluett-Peabody Company, L & M Supply and White Drug.

She is survived by her husband, Philip; three children: Laurie (Marty) Walker, Tim Shopp and Todd (Lori) Shopp; six grandchildren: Allyson (Luke) Davies, Natalie Walker, Christopher Shopp, Steven Shopp, Kelsey Shopp and Jordan Shopp; one great-grandson; two sisters: Shirley (Harold) Korpela and Beverly Padgett; a special cousin, Norma Bodovinac; sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sheila Hanela; two infant brothers at birth and six other brothers, Harley, Hartley, William, Kenneth, Dalton and John Hanela.

Inurnment in the North Sandy Cemetery.
