GEISTOWN — BARBERA – Barbara L. "Babs," 79, Geistown, passed away Feb. 16, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 18, 1934, in Johnstown, daughter of Sylvester and Elizabeth (Tarbay) Barber. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joseph and Sylvester; and sister, Patricia Luke. Survived by husband of 45 years, Joseph A., Geistown, and siblings, Dolores "Do" Barbera, Johnstown; Rose M., married to Richard Walsh, Newnan, Ga.; Nick, Nanty Glo; Leonard, married to former Janet Handzus, Johnstown; and Angie McKenzie, Clermont, Fla. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Clare of Assisi Church. A 1952 graduate of Johnstown High School. Babs enjoyed doing ceramics. Retired from GMAC. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where vigil service will be held Tuesday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Clare of Assisi Church, Father Matthew Misurda will be officiating. Committal, St. Anthony Cemetery.
