Alva A. Anthony, 72, of R.R. 4, Fremont, died Friday, February 6, in the DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn following an illness of one year.

He was born April 12, 1903, the son of William and Viola (Nelson) Anthony. He was married in Stroh May 10, 1957, to Gladys Terry, who survives.

Also surviving are two step-sons, James E. Miller of R.R. 3, Wolcottville and Charles Miller Jr. of South Milford; a son, Neil Lavern Anthony of R.R. 2, Waterloo; a daughter, Sandra Jean Higgins of R.R. 4, Columbia City, and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Graffis Funeral Home of Waterloo with the Rev. Max Smith officiating. Burial was in the Waterloo Cemetery.
