Mark Fornango passed away Friday, January 10, 2014.

He was a 1969 graduate of Joliet Township West High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Degree in Communications.

Following graduation he was recruited by the Ice Skating Institute of America in Fort Meyers, Florida where he promoted training camps for Hockey League coaches and referees. While working at ISIA, Mark successfully taught a bear cub to ice skate for Ringling Brothers Circus.

In 1976, Mark moved to San Diego and ran Group Ticket Sales at the San Diego Sports Arena for over 30 years. After leaving the Sports Arena he continued his Group Ticket Sales business with selected events.

Mark was "Dango ", "The Doctor " and a talented storyteller. He had a generous heart, an inventive and creative mind and many friends from all walks of life. He loved horses and dogs, Bocce Ball, Euchre and all things sports but especially playing or watching ice hockey.

A sincere 'Thank You' to Sharp Memorial ICU medical staff for their kindness, compassion and gentle comfort to our friend.

Mark is survived by brothers, James of Maryland Heights, MO and Douglas of Chicago, IL; and many wonderful cousins, niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Louise "Mickey " (nee Pearce) and Vincent.
