Obituary - Elva Watt Stevenson Cunningham, 88, passed away Thursday, February 28, 1991.

She was born March 17, 1902, in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Richard S. and Jennet D. Watt Stevenson. She married Shand S. Cunningham, August 21, 1923, in Provo, Utah. He passed away May 16, 1955.

She was educated in Davis County schools. In the early years, Elva and Shand traveled extensively throughout the Intermountain West with their small family as Shand followed his trade as a brick mason. They settled in West Layton in 1931.

She was an active member of the West Layton 2nd LDS Ward. She had served as Primary secretary and pianist in various church organizations for many years. She had held various other positions and was serving as a visiting teacher at the time of her death.

She was a volunteer for the Davis County Council on Aging and had been active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are: One son and two daughters, Stanley S. Cunningham, Laton; Lorraine and husband, Malcom C. Nichols, Salem, Oregon; Jennet and husband, David G. Meldrum, Kaysville, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Rex S. Cunningham.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 1991, at 11 a.m., at the West Layton 2nd LDS Ward, 2120 West Gentile, with Bishop Michael Stevenson officiating. Friends may call Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Monday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
