He was a former Bulk Oil dealer and service station operator.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Pardee Lodge 171 F. and A.M., and a charter member American Legion Post 215.
Mr. Atkinson was a veteran of World War I, and a past village board member, assessor, and a past county board supervisor.
Surviving are his wife, the former Freda Scharf; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Eggleston, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Terry Pease, Pardeeville; a brother, Harold, Arlington Heights, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Susie Baillies, Poynette; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. today. Graveside military services will be conducted by the American Legion.
